So . . .

I hear that there is some kind of ruling that is supposed to come down from the Supreme Court today. Could be pretty big, but that’s just a rumor.

For the record, here are my predictions regarding the Court’s ruling on the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare: (1) The Anti-Injunction Act will not be found to bar the adjudication of the case; (2) The mandate will be found unconstitutional; (3) The mandate will be found severable from most or all of the rest of the law; and (4) The Medicaid expansion will be found constitutional. I won’t be in the least bit surprised if the Court tries to find some way to keep the guaranteed issue and community rating–there may well be an awful lot of splitting of an awful lot of babies in the Court’s opinion.

UPDATE: The type of shrill, deranged hackwork offered to us by E.J. Dionne–who is hypocritical in the extreme–is the kind of shrieking and wailing that we can expect from port-siders in the event that the health care ruling goes against their preferences.
