Making Peace with the Unacceptable

by Pejman Yousefzadeh on June 25, 2012

As Ross Douthat notes, the Obama administration has embraced a host of Bush administration policies that candidate Obama once found objectionable. And for the most part, Democrats have followed the president’s lead, figuring that it’s okay if their guy pursues Bush administration policies, but not okay if a Republican president does it.

I don’t know what words you would use, dear readers, to characterize such an attitude. But “expedient” and “unprincipled” come to mind for me.
