Leave it to Greg Mankiw to discuss facts that Paul Krugman won’t dare discuss for fear of interfering with his argument. Leave it to Tom Maguire to expand on the issue in ways that further punch holes in Krugman’s argument. And leave it to the Wall Street Journal to point out how the populist demonization of Mitt Romney–and other wealthy people–is at variance with the facts. Readers doubtless don’t need a reminder of the fact that people like Krugman have done their best to mainstream that campaign of demonization.
In a just world, Paul Krugman would be laughed out of the field of mainstream punditry, given his tendency to play fast and loose with the facts. Of course, we don’t live in a just world, now do we?
