Department of Really Easy Calls

If you are the secretary of defense, and you think that the sequestration cuts resulting from the failure of the congressional supercommittee to settle on a deficit-cutting plan will serve to “do lasting damage, obviously, to defense policy in this country,” then it is your obligation to tell the president of the United States that he should not veto any attempt to circumvent those cuts via the passage of legislation.

Too bad that Leon Panetta thinks that intellectual consistency is for the birds.
