He’s losing the support of Democratic party politicians. And he’s also failing to inspire enthusiasm amongst young people. And give that young people aren’t as reliable a group of voters as are members of other demographic groups, and need every extra push that they can get in order to be convinced to go to the polls, a loss of enthusiasm amongst young people is, in many cases, tantamount to losing their votes.
Intrade still gives President Obama a good shot at the time of this writing. But there is no denying that the President’s political position has gotten increasingly precarious. I hope that Republicans ensure that the nominee is someone who can competently replace this President, because the political climate leads one to believe that it is more and more likely that a Republican will be President of the United States come January 20, 2013.
