If Rick Perry really wants to be a formidable Presidential contender, he is going to have to do a lot better at answering questions than he did here:
I mean, this is just terrible. Say what you want about people like Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman, but they will shred any debate opponent who has so much trouble putting a thought together. And for that matter, so will Barack Obama–who in a general election campaign will do everything possible to point out to moderates and independents in particular that Perry shouldn’t be their man. Given the key role that moderates and independents play in determining general election campaigns, and given the many problems that one might imagine Perry will have in getting them over to his side, Republicans ought to look at Perry’s campaign with a lot more concern that they appear to be evincing thus far.
