This Post is Dedicated to All Those Who Believe That Republicans Are the Only Obstructionists in the Debt Ceiling Debate

And it is brought to you by Keith Hennessey.

It is officially time to ask the President the same question he has been asking of Congressional Republicans: Why can’t he take “yes” for an answer? Admittedly, for the sake of having ourselves some economic stability, I would like debt limit deal that brings about more spending, entitlement, and tax reform, and lasts longer as well. But it is really late in the game, and chances are that we aren’t going to get that kind of a deal. So it is perhaps time to go for a second best option.

The deal Hennessey discusses–and it is important to emphasize this–had the support of Speaker Boehner, Senate Majority Leader Reid, and Senate Minority Leader McConnell. The President may believe that he can afford to hold out for a better deal, but within a matter of a few days, he may rue passing up on this one.
