The Awful, No Good, Very Bad Job Numbers

They speak for themselves. As I keep saying, there is a reason why President Obama is vulnerable in 2012, despite the general weakness of the Republican field, and despite the hopes of people like David Plouffe that unemployment simply won’t figure into the political equation when 2012 rolls around.

Yes, there is a view–perhaps even a consensus view–that the economy will get better. Let’s hope that view is correct. But we’ve been hearing that good times are just around the corner for a while now, and strangely enough, good times just haven’t come by.
