The Obama Administration’s Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Trade Policy

José Cárdenas takes the Administration to task for what he rightly terms a “free trade shell game.” No excerpts, so you will have to read it all. Again, it is worth emphasizing that while free trade is not a panacea, it is as close to a silver bullet for creating economy growth as anything policymakers can find. It continues to be a mystery why the Obama Administration doesn’t make full use of the benefits of free trade to help augment economic growth.
