The Entirely Unserious Ron Paul

by Pejman Yousefzadeh on May 13, 2011

Ron Paul believes that the SEAL raid to kill Osama bin Laden was unnecessary, since the United States could have just worked with the Pakistani government to capture bin Laden, and bring him to justice.

I guess Paul thinks that the Pakistani government was planning to do just that for the five years that bin Laden was living in a million dollar compound in Abbottabad, right under the noses of the members of the Pakistani military establishment.

Between this, and what Marc Tracy rightly calls Paul’s “ugly past,” one has to wonder what the attraction is to his candidacy.

I am relieved that Ron Paul (R-Bearded Spock Universe) isn’t on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Hasn’t the Pakistani government been long opposed the idea of US troops looking for terrorists in its borders?
