Despite the crackdown instituted by the King of Bahrain, protesters in the country have gathered anew in Pearl Square in order to continue their demonstrations. No one knows what is going to happen next with the protests, but it is clear that earlier attempts to intimidate the protesters have failed.
Meanwhile, in Libya, troops have fired on protesters. Those who are familiar with the depredations of the Qaddafi regime will find themselves entirely unsurprised. Equally unsurprising would be the resolution of Libyan protesters to continue to demonstrate against the regime. Relatedly, at this point, any Middle Eastern country that believes it is immune from protests is likely deluding itself.
