Really, at the end of the day, they have nothing more than this to make their case that Palin is responsible for the shootings.

    I blame Barak Obama for pushing this young man over the edge. When he said “punish your enemies”, “get in their faces” and “bring a gun to a knife fight” he literally provided the blueprint for this massacre and should be tried as an accessory to murder.

    The punishment should be two years confinement on the nearest golf course.

    If you think these folks use logic, that’s your mistake. If his name was Wahlid or Mustapha they still would have blamed the right first. These people are are suffering from that old psychological term “Transference”. BTW, had this been a Tea Party rally, some CCW folks would have shot his ass dead and saved the government the cost of keeping this scumbag alive for trial.

Do you mean the death camps constructed and used by the Nazis, an ultra-right political movement commonly described as Fascist (and whose rhetoric is a great inspiration for the Palin and co “talking points”)? Do you think the leftists that had fled the country or were in fact interned at these death camps were secretly creating them as a form of mass suicide? Have you ever read anything about this period in history and who worked to oppose this lunacy? Is Glenn Beck a reasonable person to you? An inspiration? Do you share your meth (I’m out)?

    The nebulous phase 2 is supposed to be the part where the motivated Palin supporter retrieves his weapon and sets out to do his dirty deed. Unfortunately for Kos and the rest of them, there is less than zero evidence that this loony’s ideology aligns in any way with Palin’s (and some evidence that it is quite the opposite). Can’t let facts get in the way of a good story, though.

    The Left once again expose themselves as the fools that they are. It’s really quite funny to me (being neither conservative nor liberal). A few days from now, they’ll look even worse. No conservative should feel the need to be defensive. Just stand back in awe of the stupidity. And this from the people who consider themselves smarter than everyone else and the party of science? Are other economists not embarrassed that Paul Krugman is one of them? He was as accurate about this event as he is with his economic forecasting. There were a handful of lefties that got this right (e.g. Kurtz). They should be praised and remembered (though I can hear them being crossed off the lefty invitation lists as I type). The rest? Unserious fools who should be held in contempt.

    Perhaps most amusing of all, is that the leftists believe they have scored big points here. Read the delusional screeds of lefty journalists salivating over the idea that this might finally be the thing that does Sarah Palin in. Or that Obama will make a comeback (a la Oklahoma City). heheh. No, this will make Palin and the Tea Party stronger and it will not help Obama one bit (except for a temporary “country mourning” bump). Nothing sticks in the craw (sp?) like being falsely and unfairly accused of murder! The outcome of this will be a stronger and more determined right and a weaker left. They just can’t help themselves.

    The Left is doing nothing more than they have done for ages.
    1. Something Bad happens.
    2. Blame Conservative Republicans loud, long, strident, noisy, with great vigor and at the highest volume.
    3. When found out, find something else Bad and repeat step 1.

    For every hundred people who hear the Left screaming that Palin is behind this shooting, and the Tea Party, and GW Bush, and possibly those people who fluoridate water, there will only be about 5 people who hear the “oops, we goofed.”

    “At the end of the day”….is usually dinnertime for me, but not necessarily the end of work, inquiry or discussion. Its funny how that sentence is supposed to serve as some kind of pseudo-warrant that substantiates your claim.

    Your simplistic analysis ignores a body of conversation inherent to any description of your “2.”.

    But I reject your format entirely for it not only assumes an unbroken line from 1 to 3, which you seem to reject as a plausible narrative, but worse, it assumes any action happens in isolation and is devoid of consequence.

    I, also, do not think you can draw a line from Palin to Loughner…I’m not sure we know where Loughner is mentally. But if you don’t think he’s a product of our culture, including our political atmosphere, well, what color is the sky in your world?

      Your simplistic analysis doesn’t even try to explain Phase 2. Not that one can blame you for the failure; there is simply no connection whatsoever between political rhetoric, and what went on in Jared Lee Loughner’s mind. He was acting out long before anyone heard of Sarah Palin, the the Tea Party, or any of the other usual suspects rounded up for questioning in this case.
      The sky is blue in my world. And the fact that our political atmosphere had nothing to do with the illness that resides in Loughner’s head is clear as day.

        I merely point out that you assume, without even exploring any discussions about “2″, that there cannot be a “2″…you say one has “nothing” to do with the other when clearly, there was “something” to a political culture explanation. He shot a politician, no?

          Mark David Chapman shot a musician. Was it because of a musical culture?

            Yes. You cannot seperate completely one from another. We don’t grow up in isolation. Our cognitive mapping is complicated and I said before that you may not be able to draw a straight line. But to suppose that one has “nothing” to do with the other takes a lot more certainty than I have.

            There never has been any proof that a political culture led to the shooting of President Reagan. Nor has there ever been any proof that a political culture led to the shooting of John Lennon. To say that “[w]e don’t grow up in isolation” does not suffice to make the theory that Jared Lee Loughner was affected by Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, the Republican party, and the center-right movement a valid one.
