Egypt Shuts Down its Al Jazeera Bureau

This was expected. The more the Mubarak regime tries to oust foreign media from Egypt, the clearer it becomes that the regime is taking a page from the Iranian regime’s reaction to the 2009 protests. And of course, this raises the prospects that an awful crackdown may be in the offing, and the Egyptian government doesn’t want the images of that crackdown to be broadcast to the international community.
