If We Are Serious About Deficit Reduction . . .

Then we are going to have to do something about the health care reform legislation passed by the Obama Administration. My New Ledger colleague Ben Domenech understands and acknowledges this. I am sure that the deficit commission understands it as well, but alas, as Ben notes, Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles are unwilling to directly state that the health care law needs, at the very least, to be seriously amended so that health care costs can be controlled. This unwillingness does not exactly render a great service to the cause of truth.
