Shorter John Kerry

“I’d love me a celebration of me.”

This story is a public relations disaster on multiple levels. Certainly, if a Republican were this egomaniacal, we would hear about it nonstop. But more importantly, as the story mentions, Kerry is going to a tapped-out set of Democratic donors, after a very tough election cycle, and asking them to give him more money . . . so that he can celebrate himself. It’s a major political faux pas that should have Democrats steaming at his sense of entitlement. I wouldn’t be surprised if the grousing amongst Democrats over Kerry’s behavior becomes louder, and public.

Incidentally, those who wonder why John Kerry could not win what turned out to be a perfectly winnable Presidential election campaign, need only to read this story in order to discover the answer.
