What Can Save Christine O'Donnell?

by Pejman Yousefzadeh on September 16, 2010

Let’s be clear: Christine O’Donnell hasn’t won a lot of respect from people who know something about general election electability (say what you want about Karl Rove, and Lord knows that I have, but his opinions on politics are not to be lightly dismissed). Her grasp of intellectual matters is, well, shaky. She really likes Lord of the Rings, which frankly, I applaud, but her interest in that may interfere with her campaign message. So, to say the least, her campaign is going to face an uphill fight.

Along comes Harry Reid to save her:

“I’m going to be very honest with you — Chris Coons, everybody knows him in the Democratic caucus. He’s my pet. He’s my favorite candidate,” Reid said.

That comment should be good for a few campaign commercials by O’Donnell. Let’s see her make use of it.
