How Does One Make Andrew Sullivan's Head Explode?

By publishing stories like this one. How can Sullivan avoid head explosions after having posted blog items like this one, this one, this one, and this one? I suppose Sullivan’s next gambit will be to say that the Palins somehow intimidated Levi Johnston into retracting his previous unflattering statements, but unless there is evidence of that, this particular supposition simply should not wash.

I have written before that I am, by no means, a Sarah Palin fan, thinking her manifestly unsuited to lead either the Republican party, or the nation as a whole. But if anything can make even an un-fan like me defend Palin, it would be encountering Andrew Sullivan’s over-the-top attacks on her. Those over-the-top attacks consisted in large part of using Johnston as a tool with which to bash Palin. How hilarious that this particular tactic has now completely backfired.

(Thanks to Ben Domenech for the Sullivan links.)

neither sarah nor levi are particularly reliable as to anything.

Levi is the only proven liar amongst that pair.

Hoo boy. You should wait a country minute before suggesting Andrew Sullivan is going to give up that easily.

Or, for that matter, that Levi is telling the truth this time.

Here is his sister Mercede on the issue, saying Levi's first stories were consistent with what he told Mercede at the time.

And Sullivan didn't have to say it. It was said for him by Levi's sister.

Meanwhile, I am a skeptic. I understand that in the US, “investigation” has been replaced by “wild conjecture”, “spin”, and “belief”.

If you can't even investigate 9/11, except behind closed doors, and excluding hundreds of fire-fighter eye-witnesses, why should I expect a higher standard here?

    Stop Believing. Start Investigating.
