The Obama Budget

It will, by all accounts, get a tough reception on Capitol Hill. And deservedly so. The Obama Administration has finally realized that the massive deficit spending it has engaged in is as bad a political move as it is a policy. Unfortunately, the Administration’s actual budget proposals don’t match its newfound rhetorical toughness on fiscal issues. The budget deficit will not be gotten under control until and unless entitlement spending reform is seriously addressed. Alas, there is no indication from the Obama Administration that it is prepared to confront growing entitlement spending.
