Jonah Goldberg reads Thomas Friedman so that the rest of us don’t have to–though I suppose I ought to mention that I read Friedman before having read Goldberg. Perusing Friedman’s column was three minutes I will never get back.
The only thing I have to add to Goldberg’s evisceration of Friedman is that the latter simply wants to believe that September 11th never happened. All of his proposed counterterrorism policies can be understood from this vantage point. One is relieved that Friedman is not a policymaker, but having him as a columnist repeatedly harping on the need for national ignorance on this issue is, quite frankly, irritating enough.
