In Praise Of Senate Obstructionism

Gene Healy’s article is a must-read. Again, it is worth mentioning that few–if any–of the people calling for the abolition of the filibuster in the Senate felt the urgency to do so while George W. Bush was President. And no, claiming that “the Republicans are filibustering more!” is not going to make their case; one hardly believes that these people would be on the warpath to end the filibuster if Democrats used it against Bush as often as Republicans now use it against Obama.
