On The Olympics

by Pejman Yousefzadeh on October 2, 2009

The fact that Barack Obama went to Copenhagen to lobby for the Olympics to be held in Chicago would appear to indicate that White House officials believe there is a strong chance that Chicago will get the games; otherwise, the White House would not have risked having the President show up to lobby only to be rejected. For all I know, the Administration may have gotten inside information indicating that Chicago will get the Games, and wanted the President to appear in Copenhagen to get the credit, though this is pure speculation on my part.

Of course, if Chicago does get the Games, the White House–not to mention port-side bloggers–will claim that it was all because of Obama. Just you watch.
