The Revolt Of The House Liberals

by Pejman Yousefzadeh on August 18, 2009

No public option, no votes from 60 of them.

Apparently, the betting is that the liberals won’t carry out their threat to vote against a package without a public option. I have to think, however, that they will have no choice but to withhold their votes, since otherwise, the chances that their votes will be taken for granted on future legislative fights will only increase. As we have seen, the White House has no compunction about enraging its base. Think the liberals really want to be victimized this way again? Neither do I.
