None other than Tom Daschle. And relatedly, his advocacy for co-ops helps out clients of his firm.
I don’t mind Tom Daschle representing his clients. I do mind, however, when the White House takes his advice, advocates his positions in public, and does not disclose on its own that it is taking advice from Daschle, or that the advice in question, if implemented, would just happen to assist Daschle’s clients. I thought that we were supposed to be getting health care reform for the whole country, not just lining Tom Daschle’s pockets.
Relatedly, I never again want to hear complaints about the Republican “K Street Project,” unless said complaints are coming from other Republicans.
