Rose Friedman, RIP

by Pejman Yousefzadeh on August 18, 2009

A terrible loss. Rose and Milton Friedman did so much to better the human condition. Would that there were more like them, but it may well be that the mold was broken once they were given life.

I have said before, and will say again, that most of the people willing to argue against the ideas of Milton Friedman nowadays venture to do so only because Friedman is dead, and therefore cannot argue back (*coughnaomikleincough*). So it will likely be with Rose Friedman. This manifestation of intellectual cowardice ought to be called out for what it plainly is, of course, but it is a tribute to the Friedmans that their opponents only feel safe arguing against them now that the Friedmans have shuffled off their mortal coils.
