A recent post by the Daily Disher, informing us that Liz Cheney, the daughter of the Vice President, is considering running for public office, is entitled “Nepotism Watch.”
Sullivan actually believes that if voters elect Liz Cheney to a public position, it is the same as having her appointed to a job based on who her father is. The latter situation, of course, is the classic example of nepotism. The former is just democratic republicanism in action. Sullivan can’t tell the difference.
Oh, Atlantic Monthly, how far you have fallen.
