The private sector does a better job of tracking public sector spending than does the public sector. And yet, we are being told by the Powers That Be that it is impossible to trust the private sector with freedom and responsibility, and that heavy public sector involvement is needed to pull the economy out of its doldrums. How the public sector is supposed to manage the economy better than the private sector when it cannot outstrip the private sector when it comes to doing something as simple as keeping track of public spending is anyone’s guess

I don’t know how it is possible to make this stuff up. I don’t know how many people actually possess the imagination to write a fictional story featuring such a massive disconnect between facts on one hand, and claims on the other.
